One of the coolest strategy games of all time. Small pain to get working on a system with more than 2 GB of memory (easy to fix, just a process), but the game is totally worth it. Units markedly improve as they gain experience, the primary form of currency is POW's (capture prisoners on the field, make money), and I like the emphasis on infantry/ground vehicle/tank combat. It does have aircraft but they're not a unit you directly control. If you're a fan of RTS games, check this out!. This is an old game, but a good one. I am really pleased with both, mostly on the Base game. I certainly don't like futuristic Warfare games while they are based with regular know actual Warfare, like US Army's official Divisions and stuff, but I did an exception here.Pros:-Fully Modern/Futuristic Warfare-Lots of playable units-Building progress AoE alike-Long Interesting Campaign-LAN Support ☺ A+-Ok Cinematics-Ok save US type Campaign-Destroyable Environment and Buildings-Challenging GameplayCons:-It requires a lil bit of time to figure compositions for correct offense and defense-Online gameplay not available unless using 3rd. party LAN apps.So if you are a realistic with some futuristic warfare kind of guy I totally recommend you to play it!. Amazing story, visuals that hold up surpisingly well for a 2005 game, and arguably the most uniquely balanced and varied factions, each with clearly different playstyles and unit variety. In short, a U.S Army faction that is brutally strong and hits like a truck in the late game with specialized, heavily armored and destructive units, but lacking in versatility (Abram tanks that can only fight ground units, Avenger ground-to-air, f-14 air-to-air, etc). A TFT Direct Ops faction that sacrifices cheap numbers and specialization in favor of units that can handle multiple scenarios (Heavy Snipers good for infantry and vehicles, Spinner tanks that can switch between railguns, air missles, and remote bomb drones) and Consortium that specializes in cheap, high damage, low movement/fire rate hit and run tactics (Akula stealth tanks, BTR transports)In other words, if you ever enjoyed games like Red Alert, you find this game to be very enjoyable. Sadly, online is essentially dead, but for 3$ the campaign and bot matches alone are worth the price.
